Life Lately

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

We have had a crazy summer. The first two months were extremely rough and August started turning the corner. Jake accepted a job transfer to Petoskey and a week later we were moving in with my parents and commuting to our jobs while searching for a house to buy. That process has been quite interesting but we're nearing the end:) Here are a few photos of our summer:

Florida Vaca 2012

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

We ventured to St. Augustine, Florida a couple of weeks ago. Jake was in a friend's wedding, so we made a vacation out of it! We visited two different forts in the oldest city in the U.S., went on a Ghost and Graveyards tour with the wedding party, spent a lot of time in the sun drinking fruity drinks, attended a beautiful beach wedding, and spent our last day at Universal Studios.
We had a great time, made some friends, but I did butt heads with one of our lovely condo-mates about using MY bathroom (he was a messy male who consumed far too many cocktails on the trip). All in all it was a great trip with lots of bonding experience:)

Happy Mother's Day!

I want to say Happy Mother's Day to my mom. The best mom. She loves me like no one else, even when I'm difficult to love. Thank you, Mom, for being my biggest supporter. XOXO

Big Hair Dreams

Thursday, May 3, 2012

Ignore the cleavage and focus on that HAIR! I'm obsessed with big hair right now. I think about it, I research it, I dream about it, and now...I blog it. I have long, straight hair with absolutely NO natural body. I've tried hot rollers and the body doesn't last very long, and recently I've been using dry shampoo on my roots and that seems to help a little bit, but I need some more ideas. Does anyone have any advice to help me achieve this look???

Project Completion: Rocking Chair

Sunday, April 22, 2012

Remember our chair project from way back?
Well, we FINALLY finished it. The finished product is not perfect and I have to go back over a couple of spots with the black paint again, but considering our lack of experience in upholstering, I think it turned out pretty good!

After:

This was a pretty cheap project. With the price of the old chair, fabric, paint, nailheads, and a nail gun, the total was right around $65.

Thank you to my husband for testing his patience and humoring my project!

He's Alive!

I'm singing this song in church today. So powerful.

HAPPY RESURRECTION SUNDAY!

I've been a bad, bad girl...

What have we been up to, you ask? Just living the dream here in the H.L. (Are you sensing my sarcasm?)
Today, however, is a fabulous day. Happy Good Friday All!
