New around here....

(Brother's wedding, August 16th)

I have not been good at updating the blog. I go back and forth with just giving up on it all together but sometimes if I can't remember a date or a stat I find myself looking to the blog for the answer. It is nice to have a bunch of information in one place so I'm going to try to keep at it.

On August 27th, we moved out of the Summerside Drive house. This was our 8th move in the 5 years we have been married. Pros. We were thankful for the sale of our house, even though we are currently in limbo regarding a job transfer and where we will end up! So, wish us the best!

Baby Boy's Nursery!

I'm finally posting some photos of our finished nursery. Well, ALMOST finished. I still have to hang two picture frames on either side of the crib. Remember what this room is looked like shortly after we moved in in October?

The only theme we went with was a black and white color scheme, trying to keep it fairly neutral because he may end up sharing his room one day. We are keeping it the nursery/guest room for a while, especially since he will be sleeping in our room for the first few months anyway.

We are ready and waiting for him!

Main Bathroom Before & After

Here is our main bath as it sits now. We still need a few things like a couple of dark grey rugs and wall art for  two empty wall spots but it has come a long way. Not pictured is the toilet closet that also houses a stand up shower. That little room has yet to be painted!

Nursery/Guestroom Before & In Progress

Here is the Nursery/Guestroom on the day we moved into our new house. I probably should have opened the shades before taking photos but you get the idea. It was very PINK. It's a good size room and one of two bedrooms upstairs (across from our master) so we decided this room will multi-task as the baby's room and a space for the occasional overnight guest.

The first thing we did was paint the walls a light grey, but in certain lighting (like these photos) it looks light blue. Then we moved in the furniture that will remain in the room once we turn it into a nursery (which we are in the process of). So, consider these the In-Progress pictures. There's more to come!

Christmas in our new house

Well, this has been quite the year and as it comes to a close, I have a little announcement.

We bought a house. In October.

It's a little white house, just like I've always wanted. I wrote about white houses HERE, HERE, and HERE.

We've done a lot of painting and have MANY more projects ahead of us, but here's a little sneak peek at our house this Christmas. The outside is covered in snow so I probably won't get any good shots till spring.
