28 Weeks

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

How far along & size of the baby: 28 weeks, baby is approximately 2 1/4 lbs and about 14.8 in long.

Cravings: Not much. I can only eat a little bit at once and I'm stuffed. No big meals for me.

On my mind: The baby has been moving around like crazy and his resting position is just about killing me. I have episodes where I can't catch my breath and I break out in a hot flash and start to panic a little. It's loads of fun.

On my mind: I'm dying to know how much my baby actually weighs but I don't get another ultrasound until around 35 weeks--Boo.

Nursery/Guestroom Before & In Progress

Saturday, February 16, 2013

Here is the Nursery/Guestroom on the day we moved into our new house. I probably should have opened the shades before taking photos but you get the idea. It was very PINK. It's a good size room and one of two bedrooms upstairs (across from our master) so we decided this room will multi-task as the baby's room and a space for the occasional overnight guest.

The first thing we did was paint the walls a light grey, but in certain lighting (like these photos) it looks light blue. Then we moved in the furniture that will remain in the room once we turn it into a nursery (which we are in the process of). So, consider these the In-Progress pictures. There's more to come!

26 Weeks

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

How far along & size of the baby: 26 weeks, Baby is the size of a head of lettuce.

Cravings: Changes daily. The other night it was chicken wings from la Senorita.

On my mind: Hoping the next 14 weeks fly by. I'm feeling a little anxious and am excited for the day when I have everything prepared and ready and all that's left to do is wait!

House #4- Main St. House

Friday, February 8, 2013

In the Spring of 2011 we moved yet again, thanks to another job transfer. We moved to one of the towns I said I never wanted to live in. Go figure. Reminds me of the saying 'We make plans and God just laughs'.
This was a much smaller town with much less going on. While I did have some family there (and enjoyed being able to meet my Grandma for the occasional breakfast), we had zero friends. Slowly but surely we met a few people, including my awesome co-worker who introduced me to fun sayings like "My dogs are barkin!" Love her.
The year we spent there was truly a bonding experience for Jake and I. We spent less time commuting (my job was 3 blocks from our house and his was 3 miles), we joined a gym together and I worked out more than I ever had before, we rented a lot of movies and spent a lot of nights eating in.

In June 2012 we said goodbye to the Main St House and moved on....

House #3- The Cabin

Thursday, February 7, 2013

Jake was promoted and transferred to another town so, much to my dismay, we decided to find a house to rent in between our jobs. Which means out in the middle of nowhere. Our rental options were pretty slim but we finally decided on The Cabin. Read about our first week in the house HERE.

Moving to the middle of nowhere was definitely an adjustment and so was all the extra driving (Jake drove 43 miles to work one way). The Cabin was homey and had a ton of character, privacy and plenty of room for Layla to roam. She would sometimes roam a little too long for my liking. The lot had been clear cut but we were able to trudge through the snow and cut down our Christmas tree in the backyard. One memory I wouldn't mind forgetting is the Box-elder bug fiasco. They were everywhere! I seriously thought the house and yard were infested and definitely shed some tears over the frustration. We set off multiple bug bombs and that helped for the time being. I have never been happier to see the ground freeze and all the little bugs along with it!

Our stay at house # 3 was again short lived. We were there 6 months before another transfer sent us packing....

25 Weeks

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

How far along and size of the baby: 25 weeks, baby is the size of a cauliflower. Weird.

Craving: Sugar. Glucose test is in 2 weeks. (sigh)

On my mind: I'm ready to get to work on the nursery. I'm on vaca from work for a couple of weeks so I hope to get some stuff done!
