With another move on the horizon, things are crazy over here. The house is a disaster, with boxes everywhere. All of the odds and ends lying around have me wondering whether to "pack?" or "pitch?" Jake already vetoed my vote and pitched my soul-singin'-black-girl wall art. Right now, I am feeling like I can part with things I never thought I could. I really dislike living in chaos and am now looking forward to moving. The only thing that remains the same are the flowers that Molly constantly picks from the backyard.

Layla doesn't like living in chaos either, so she opts for a spot outside in the shade.

Here is a project that was completed recently. My mom wanted a warm, cozy feel for their guest bedroom, which happens to be my old bedroom! She was using an antique bed, chest, and nightstand, and wanted to incorporate a little red into the decor. This room has seen many wall colors. Everything from lavendar, to dark pink, to a yellowy cream, and now....

Unfortunately, I didn't get any proper "Before" pictures, just "in progress" pictures. And forgive my camera, it serves its purpose, but I'm begging for a new wide lense camera this year for my birthday and/or Christmas present.

We officially have a temporary home.

Friday, we were forced to choose between the neutral three bedroom house- with a ton of storage and a crazy landlord, or the smaller log home- with a lot of character and only a 6 month lease.

We chose the log home.

That's me, packing with nowhere to go. We are hoping to find out this afternoon which house is going to work for us. At this point, I really just want to know. Forget space, forget a garage, forget Michigan winters...where are we going to be living?!

Beautiful House Wednesday stand-in...

I realize I have not done a "Beautiful House Wednesday" post in weeks...two or three, at least. My current "house" situation is a little stressful and has consumed my world. For those of you wondering, Jake got transferred and we are looking for a rental in between Traverse City and Manistee. We will both be commuting:( BUT, it's not forever. I know, 'Look on the bright side, Karlee!'
